Kleaneasy Carpet Cleaning was contacted by a 60-something years old daughter of an elderly woman with a severe upper respiratory condition. The condition was inflamed by the massive amount of dust, dirt, and pet dander that had built up in the carpets over the years. This momma could take care of herself for the most part but needed constant medical attention due to the breathing issue.
This mom struggled to breathe each day but nothing seemed to help. So, the daughter decided that due to her age and medical condition it was time to put her in a nursing home. Moving mom into her home was not an option due to some personal factors.
Countless families make this unfortunate decision every day. It carries such emotional weight but often the family simply does not have a choice.
Her mother hated the nursing home and begged her daughter everyday to take her home. It was such an emotional toll for the daughter who obviously loved her mother deeply.
When we arrived at the house the odor almost knocked us over. We weren't surprised that this momma had so many health issues. The odor alone would make an healthy person nauseous.
We knew exactly what to do.
So, we vacuumed thoroughly and treated the carpets with bacteria destroying enzymatic deodorizers. We then pre-scrubbed the carpets to work the enzymes deep into the carpet fibers. All that was left was to perform was a deep hot water extraction (AKA: steam cleaning).
After 40 years of cleaning carpet I still get amazed at the results I get. The carpet was so clean and odors were completely eliminated.
The daughter was able to bring momma home.
